Education Gold Star Award for the best partner in 2004
By invitation, we provide “Humane” Education to schools, scout troops, children’s camps, etc. “Nike” is our “Big Man on Campus”, he visits several Waco ISD schools and loves for the children to READ to him. According to their teachers, they have noticed a difference in the averages of their reading scores since this program began.
Nike and friend share a good book.

Nike Visits Our School
During the 2003-2004 year Cedar Ridge Elementary was lucky enough to be visited by “Nike” from Fuzzy Friends. Each week on Tuesday, “Nike” would come to our school and listen, as three of my students would read to him. These three students were chosen because they were struggling in reading. Every Tuesday morning when they walked in the room, these students would remind me that “Nike” was coming that day! These students were always excited on Tuesdays and loved reading to “Nike”. I have noticed a change in these students. First, their reading averages increased and they are also more confident in themselves about reading. I would like to thank Fuzzy Friends for letting Cedar Ridge participate in this reading program.
