If you are interested in giving one of our wonderful animals a forever home, we encourage you and everyone in your household to come visit Fuzzy Friends Rescue to meet them first. This allows you the opportunity to see if you bond with the animal you are interested in. It is also important for your new animal friend to have a chance to meet the entire prospective family. Be sure to select a time to visit our rescue when everyone can come.
The adoption fee for each animal available at Fuzzy Friends Rescue has been set on an individual basis. Please see the online description for each animal to obtain the adoption fee.
The difference in adoption fees is to help us cover the expense of caring for the younger animals since they require more vaccinations and medical expense than a lot of the adult animals. Older animals are often overlooked, and the reduction in their fee will hopefully help place them in homes so they may live out their retirement years being loved in a home environment.
Adoption fees include: vaccinations that are given from incoming date to adoption date, heartworm test on dogs over 6 months old, Feline Leukemia Test/FIV test on all cats and kittens, spay or neuter surgery, microchip and microchip registration, and any other medical procedures performed prior to adoption (i.e. deworming, heartworm treatment, life-saving surgeries, and repairs for broken bones). This also includes a personalized identification tag for dogs or a Hide, Perch & Go box for cats. ADOPTION FEES ARE NON-NEGOTIABLE.
IN ORDER TO ADOPT AN ANIMAL, you must:
Once you complete an adoption application, veterinary history for past or current pets will be verified, and the application will be sent to our review board. This process takes about 2-3 business days. If approved, you will be asked to come back to the facility to complete the formal adoption process. Please email ffr1@sbcglobal.net with any questions.
**NOTE**
For puppies age 1 year and younger, the single most important part of your application is the information about your recent (within 10 years) vet history. We are looking for our adopters to show a consistent history of routine preventive care for past and current pets.
For adopters without recent pet experience, we recommend starting with a dog or cat over 1 year of age. Please see a staff member for suggestions on a pet who will fit your lifestyle!
The national average indicates that only one in ten animals remains with its adoptive family for life. That is a staggering and unacceptable statistic. The remaining nine animals are often tossed around through multiple homes, taken to a kill-shelter, lost, or worse.
At Fuzzy Friends Rescue, we make every effort to place the RIGHT animal in the RIGHT home. Our trained staff members will help you select the best match for your lifestyle. When you arrive at our facility, you will be greeted by someone who will assist you. Next, you will have an opportunity to look at all of the available animals. Once you’ve selected an animal, you may go to one of our “Get Acquainted Rooms” and spend some one-on-one time with the animal of your choice. If you decide the animal is a good fit for you and your family, you may complete an adoption application.
Not only does adoption give an animal a second chance at happiness, but it’s also money well spent as you can see in the comparison below:
No one can predict when an animal will get sick. Animals that appear healthy and free of any symptoms are shown for adoption. We also have some special needs animals available for adoption, and any known temporary or permanent ailments or conditions will be fully disclosed.
We want to thank you for choosing to adopt your new family member from Fuzzy Friends Rescue! We’d be delighted to help you choose the right match for you and your family.
Fuzzy Friends Rescue has made a lifetime commitment to every animal we rescue. The return request is evaluated by our Director on a case-by-case basis. If you have any questions regarding our return policy, please contact us at 254-754-9444.
